Research: Intertextuality

Intertextuality is music videos that you`ll see is that they are linked to films or TV programmes, some even have other music videos, and even radio stations.The examples which i have put below their are different ways of stating intertexuality through music videos 

 Thriller by Michael Jackson this is good because the song was from a film and it also shows the artist watch himself in the cinema  and there is a lot of acting in the beginning before the song starts with michael he is well know for haing intertexual music videos for example rock my world . and at the end of black of white  when he turns in to a black tiger this is show at 1:20 in the completed version part 2  of the song.

Eminem music video got banned because of the intertextual reference that he had put in his music video, In the music video the intertextuality  is represented of Eminem dressing  Michael Jackson after he turned a different colour because of his skin condition, which t public thought was racist.

  

In this music video by 2pac is showing an intertextual references to the news, and the media, speaking for the youth saying their is no change they are all the same, and he sees nothing changing in society everything is the same, speaking about the racism, the black youths, in his time and also how the drugs and the police are not doing right for system. This is seen through his interviews  in this music video.

Advantages

These type of music videos would appeal to the audience the reason being  this would create a hype through the music industry, and get the audience talking, an which means that more people would want to know and see more from the artist and the media from this particular music video.

Disadvantages 

The criticism on having music videos with intertexual references linked to song is sometimes, can be taken offensive in a cultural way,  or racism,  

Conclusion

I don’t think that me and my group are going to used intertexual references the reason being is because they type of genre we have picked for our group to do there is no need we feel but if we was going to intertexual references it would probably be at the beginning  just before the soundtrack comes in to the play.
