The theorists that I intend to apply to my music video and portray a star image, will be is going to be Goodwin and Dyers. I want our music video to attract a wider range of audiences and feel this will be achievable through their costume, facial expressions and body language. The star motifs and artists image will also e key to the music videos success.
The clothing that I feel will most accurately represent my character and would relate to the house genre will be as follows.
I feel these clothing choices will relate to the single because my artist looks care free. I feel that he can portray his ideologies through wearing this costume and can also be eye catching to the audience due to its simplicity and perhaps encourage the audience to want to know more about this artist by researching them independently. The artist wearing simple clothing would be very conventional to the house genre because this creates an urban trend , aiming for simplicty yet being individual.
Other artist that have similar clothing :
Disclosure
Example
Rudemental
The artist will wear a black jacket with a plain white t shirt. This is becauuse we want to show the audience that our artist is care free and is not really a rebel to society. However, we want to create the impression that our artist is independent and quite narcisstic.
Trey, a good start, but this is not finished.
ReplyDelete-The discussion on Goodwin and Dyer can be extended a little, how do you plan to use these thoeries to represent your star?
-Include an image of your artist and comment on thigs like age, costume, hair, body language etc and how this will represent your genre and single?
-compare a few actual artists you want your artist to be like?
Made my Edits
ReplyDeleteA much better post Trey. You show what you want your artist to wear and relate to 'House' artists and what the connotations are of your chosen clothing.
