Planning: Lighting and colour for music video

Lighting is important to use in a music videos  because it helps Identify the artist and the characters in the music videos, and it can help set the mood to  specific locations. What this can do is create a certain response with the audiences, for example high key lighting makes the audience feel  delighted, happy, and joyful.

In my music video I tend to use  low key light when we our we are using close ups of the artist, so he can be the centre of attention,  letting the audience have a relationship with the artist can see what the artist is doing  throughout the music video.

In Donae`o `s music video featuring Terri Walker, we can see that these artist are the centre of attention throughout the music video and we can see how much impact the high key lighting has  with the artists. The artists are seen towards the audience is smart, cool, causal, artists  through the use  of the  spotlights highlighting the artists faces showing the audience the feelings through the music video.

As our group, our intention is to give our artist a spotlight effect. This will allow them to be the main focus. I feel this will be clearer throught the use of a white wall location. For example, in Aluna Geoge and Gnarles Barkleys music videos, they show their artist very effectively  through  the use of the white wall location.

  1. More good evidence of planning here. SOme lighting and colour you plan to use have been identified and you compare to some music videos/artists you want to be similar to.

    To improve;
    -look to include a few more still images of artists/videos that are similar to yours to then discuss further the effects you are hoping to use within your video. You state you want to use low-key lighting, high-key lighting and the use of the colour white. Write these choices in the PEER format to make it clearer
