Research:Intertexualiy

Intertexualiy is music videos that you`ll see is that they are linked to films or TV programmes, some even have other music videos, and even radio stations.

A good example for intertexually is thriller by Michael Jackson this is good because the song was from a film and it also shows the artist watch himself in the cinema   and there is a lot of acting in the beginning before the song starts.

In this music video from Eminem – just loose it he dresses up as Michael Jackson and imitates when he is dancing on stage and also making fun of Michael Jacksons nose after he had plastic surgery

2pac changes

In this music video by 2pac is showing an intertextual references to the news and they are all the same, and he sees nothing changing in society everything is the same, speaking about the racism, the black youths, in his time and also how the drugs and the police are not doing right for system.

These type of music videos would appeal to the audience because this would create a hype which means that more people would be talking about what’s happening, meaning that more people would want to watch  the music video.   

Disadvantages

The criticism on having music videos with intertexual references is songs can take  it the wrong way and this can be bad for the artist, this is why artist have to be careful of what they are doing in their music videos the things that they cannot put in their music video, What artist cannot put in their music video is  put or use in their music video is :

• Cultural references
• Racism 

what this has showed me is the different way that different artist can put intertextual references in their music video, which i feel is good to get artists point across to certain viewers but not criticizing to any religions or anything else, but i might try to use this in my music video to get my point across depending on what type of song i was looking to do.
